“It is a real pleasure to welcome you all to the 45th Annual Conference of the Oceania Comparative and International Education Society. A special welcome is adressed to our three keynote speakers Konai Helu Thaman, Roger Dale and Emmanuel Tjibaou. The Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Research in Education of the Faculty of Education of the university of New Caledonia is honored to make its first steps next to OCIES in taking part in the organising of the conference. Your venue and the richness of our exchanges that will occur throughout these three days will participate in promoting our university in Oceania and beyond. Indeed, by looking at the programme the presenters and participants travelled from New Zealand, Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Solomon islands, Guam, Tonga, England, Sweden, Hong-Kong, Japan, France, USA, India.

There wouldn’t be a better gift to celebrate the thirty years of existence of our university ! New Caledonia, where multiple cultures and languages live, is a priviliged ground to engage a reflection on a major issue to us all, an education where equity and sustainability meet in environments undergoing mutation. ”
